The Role
Very worthwhile experience and will hopefully be coming back.
Was treated like an equal employee and part of the team at all times.
Sometimes hard to get them to sit down with you as they are very busy.
This changed from week to week. Sometime had a list of tasks to be getting on with in my own time which was fine. But occasionally had a days at a time with not a lot to do.
As time went on was given increasingly important tasks. Was a trusted member of the team, no one looking over your shoulder making sure you were doing it right but happy to help if you needed it.
Excel skills have definitely improved which Im sure will always be useful.
The Company
Very relaxed, good friendly team spirit. Was fairly common to approach colleagues for a chat/catch up, managers would also do this.
There could have been more ideas of possible tasks in place before I came as I sometimes felt not even my supervisor really knew what I should do. But equally the demands of the business mean't that tasks could not always have been planned.
Online learning system which you could use as much or as little of as you liked. Other in person courses available ranging from one day to one week in length.
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Have the option to come back again next summer with a view to joining graduate scheme the year after that.
The Culture
Very! Most of us lived in the same place so there were always people about in the evenings/weekends. We made the most of our weekends!
Think it was relatively cheap but could always be cheaper!
Not a huge amount of options but always made a good night of it.
Social sports, some other possibilities.
