The Role
Not exactly the engineering area that I was looking for but it was useful never the less.
Felt that they relied on me a lot and trusted me to do tasks that required a bit of thought.
Weekly check ins to check my progress. Tried to make sure that I always had something to do even if there were lulls in the work load.
Occasionally left with nothing to do but I managed to come up with suitable tasks to keep busy.
Given a lot of responsibility. Designed layouts that were actually used which was satisfying.
Very useful to learn the work flow processes and how to produce deliverables.
The Company
Relaxed with plenty of banter.
They don't have many interns here and the process was a little ill thought out. Nothing particularly bad, just a little slow.
Attended one course that was not hugely relevant. Left to work out the other pieces of software.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Didn't try to get a job but reasonably confident I would have a chance at returning.
The Culture
A couple amazing nights out with colleagues. Great team bonding. No other placement students there unfortunately.
Lived at home. Newcastle always cheap for a night out.
Newcastle is the best night out!
Team taken out for a pizza one lunch time. Very nice!
