The Role
I have been able to get invovled in so many different opportunities it has been fantastic, I would reccomend to everyone wanting to go on placement to apply to GSK!
My team have been fantiastic they are very supportive however value your input and invite you to get invovled. Everyone I have worked with have been so friendly you really can get invovled.
My Manager has been increadibly supportive throughout, she has pushed me to project manage different areas and events and get invovled in various activities. She has always been there if I have needed any support or guidance.
Day to day always kept me on my toes, with such a developing project we were continuously pushing forward - it is always better to be busy and gain the variety of experiences than sitting not doing anything so I have been very happy.
The level of responsiblity I felt was high from the start eventhough looking back the amount of responsibilty I was given grew throughout my placement. I was asked to project manage a number of activities and tasks which she took a step back on but was always there to sense check and ensure progress was at a high level and standard.
The skills i have gained and deloped thoughout my time at GSK will be skills I take back to uni with me for my final year as well as when working in the future. I will always value the time I have had at GSK, it has set me up with key skills for the future and a value all of the help and support for devlopment they have provided me with while on placement, I have had a fantastic year.
The Company
The atmosphere varied in the office, I was part of a busy team which operated on a busy floor however we atmosphere when we all came together was great. I also worked at other sites and venues where the atmosphere was always very inviting and exciting.
The organisation was very good, it was always very clear from before starting what was expected and the handover from the previous intern was very helpful.
GSK were brilliant with pushing you to further training and devlopment, they woudl look where you want to devlop skills, programme that you can support on and look where you can futher yourself.

There is an opportunity to apply though the fast track process onto the graduate scheme and I feel if you want to apply for a direct enterant role having experience in the company already is a great start.
The Culture
Many of the placement students do live and socialise together, among colleges there are usually a couple of events thorughout the year that you all get invovled in which is great for team bonding.
being London it is slightly mroe expensive but for the experience at GSK its more than worth it. If you look well you can usually find areas that are not too expensive either.
Nightlife in the area was minimal but you were not far from the centre of London and there were frequent nights out arranged but you had to be prepared to travel.
There are always opportunities outside of work that you can get invovled in as long as your willing to make an effort!
