The Role
Had an incredible experience and loved every day of it!
From the moment I started I didn't feel like an intern at all and that my opinions were valued.
Although my actual team was technically in Stockholm, I had the programming team to look out for me and guide me.
I always had interesting tasks to work on but never felt over worked.
Being the only researcher for the Nordic Disney Channel in the London offices, it was quicker and easier to request some insight directly from me rather than speaking to my team as a whole.
Although my placement wasn't directly linked to Business Management as a degree, I learnt a lot about research, marketing and how a large multinational business runs.
The Company
There would be the odd day when work was a little quiet but it was so rare. It was a relaxed atmosphere.
The work placement was organised very well.
I had my own personal targets that I wanted to achieve and my manager and team members really helped me push to these goals. There were also regular research knowledge sharing meetings where the research teams from around the company would explain what they do to everyone else. This was really good because you can sometimes get lost in your own role.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare/Dental
A vast number of employees that I met during my time at the company were previously interns here.
The Culture
There are over 100 interns at Disney London each year so plenty of new faces to meet.
Unfortunately being in London you are going to pay more than many university houses and night clubs can be pricey.
Where I worked, there were a couple of nice bars for a couple of after work drinks. But the tube system will get you into central in around 30 minutes where there is a huge choice of places to go and investigate.
I took part in 2 VoluntEARS days where each department will go out and volunteer for the local communities. But most activities were set up amongst us interns.
