Industrial and Office Agency Review

I was very welcomed into my team and was introduced to the majority of the office. Was asked to play football on a Wednesday after work against other property company's which gave me the chance to meet more people in the office and undertand the different job roles in the business. Very well organised as each intern has a 'buddy' and 'supervisor' who helps them though the intern.

Each colleague showed an interest in what I was currently doing at university which made me feel like I was a part of the team right from the very start.

The guidance was very helpful, both with current day to day tasks I had to do in the office. Being in the Agency team I was very interested in what my supervisors main job role was and how he progressed through his career so far. He was very willing to tell me what was involved and his past experiences, this certainly motivated me throughtout the internship and for my future studies to enable me to get to that position in the future.

Always had something to do. As expected I could't attend or help with some tasks due to my lack of experience in the industry and being an intern. However I was taken out on site and to meetings whenver it seemed possible for my team to do so.

I was not given full responsibility at any time. What I mean by this is that when I did tasks it was checked over before being sent off to clients for example. The work I was doing was not just work set for the sake of me being there, they were important projects that were going on at the time.

Being in the Agency team and the sociability skills needed in that area of the business has given me more confidence when meeting new people and potential clients. The accuracy of work produced is one of the most important things I learnt and to deal with somewhat a small amount of pressure to try and get work done correctly for my colleagues.

Everyone was very friendly and was a fun environment to work in. Obviously when it was busy there was little or no talk between colleagues but when appropriate it there was always a bit of banter. Overall it was very professional and an enjoyable place to be.

Couldn't fault it. As i was located in the Birmingham office and the majority on interns were in London I thought I may be secluded from everything going on. This was not the case as I was given regular emials and phonecalls by the Graduate Programme Officer who kept me up to date of events I needed to attend in the London office (all expenses were paid for). Before the placement started I was given a timetable of events and a guide for the Birmingham office. It was made easy to network with the other interns in London from events that were put on and even being in Birmingham I managed to make a few connections/friends

I was given feedback from my interview and placement with a potential offer on the graduate scheme. You find this out 3 weeks after your internship has ended. It is obvious they have invested a lot of time in each intern as these are the potential graduates for the future.

Future employment prospects are very appealing and it would mean a lot if I was to be accepted onto the graduate programme. Given a lot of information about the graduate programme for next year. Being at univeristy there are many company's looking for graduate however from my experiences Cushman & Wakefield are up there with the best in terms of how they run the graduate programme and select the graduates.

I was the only intern in Birmingham but from speaking to some interns in the London office socially it was very good. Drinks were a regular thing after work on a Friday and various sports teams played matches midweek. I did play football on a Wednesday with the Birmingham office which was very socialble. I do think however I would of slightly benefited more if there were a few more interns in my office in terms of the social aspect for example drinks after work and to also get to know the other interns better and compare experiences with them and learn from one another.

Standard prices for food and drinks. Shops close by, Tesco Express 2 minute walk.

Very lively. Pubs right on the doorstep of the offices and bars and restaurants a 5 minute walk away. Ideal for a Friday after work.

I know my team have been to Ascot races with clients. Midweek football.
