The Role
I very much enjoyed my time with Savills and was exposed to a variety of roles/experiences.
I was frequently asked to complete tasks, which supported the work of other colleagues and their appreciation made me feel valued.
I worked within four different departments and received support from the managers/directors within those sub teams.
There was always a good flow of work balanced with site visits.
Being a four week placement I was not able to take on a great deal of responsibility, but this is more of a reflection on the nature of an internship, as opposed to Savills as an organisation.
I feel that there is no substitute for practical on the job learning that can not be gained from a classroom situation. In this respect my experience at Savills has been invaluable in forwarding my understanding of my degree course material.
The Company
Friendly and lively atmosphere with an interesting mix of people.
The placement was structured and I knew when and for how long I would be sitting with each team.
I was able to attend a workshop lead by a national law firm, which was very insightful.
Savills is a company that I would like to work for in the future.
The Culture
I write this comment after a fairwell lunch at in the pub.
I am local to the area, so no additional expenses have been incurred.
Good bars in a popular business district.
There were no activities whilst I was on my placement aside from the usual social.
