The Role
Overall I would say that it was an interesting month, which gave me an insight into what a career in property would entail.
I felt that the work I was doing was necessary; I was doing more than photocopying and filing, and felt that my contribution was appreciated.
I was always able to ask my grad mentor for help if I didn't understand something.
I was sometimes a bit bored, but I think that this was more because I was there at a slow time. If I asked my mentor for work she would always try to find something.
I was given more responsibility than I was expected, especially as the placement went on.
While not especially useful for my degree, I think that the experience of working in an office environment will be useful later in life. It will also obviously be helpful to have done this internship if I decide on a career in property.
The Company
Good; the work came first, but there was usually time for a laugh (and ice-cream on occasion).
The company's been running an internship programme for several years, so it is well set up.
There were a series of talks about other departments, which I found really helpful, as I wasn't sure which department I would prefer to work in. There were also various networking events.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I'm not completely sold on a career in property, but if I do decide to go in to this sector I would definitely apply here.
The Culture
Really good - we'd often meet for lunch/drinks.
Central London is expensive, this is just a fact. Really expensive.
Again, it's the middle of London.
There were drinks, and rounders in Hyde Park on one occasion, which was good.
