About You
I really enjoyed my time at Baker & McKenzie!
Baker & McKenzie really do live up to their reputation as the "friendly firm"! It was great how warm and welcoming everyone was
For each department you sit in you are assigned a trainee buddy, who is always on call to answer any questions you have.
As you are doing real work within a department at Baker & McKenzie during the vac scheme, it gives a really valuable insight into what life as a trainee would be like, and gives you a headstart on developing these skills.
The Company
Graduate Recruitment organise the scheme really well. There is a great mix of talks, training and social events, as well as the opportunity to do real work in your department,
I was really surprised by the friendly and open atmosphere throughout. There was never a feeling of competition amongst the vac scheme students, which helped to make the whole experience really enjoyable.
The opportunity to deliver a client pitch presentation, and the training we received for this was really useful.
There were lots of opportunities to meet and grill people at all levels of the firm; from trainees to the managment committee!
Everything Else
All the social activities were great fun! We had bowling, curry night, pizza-making and prosecco...
There was also the opportunity for us to find out more, and in some cases, go along to different meetings etc on these activities.
