The Role
It takes a while to get everything sorted but once you do and you know your team within the branch it's fantastic and a really really valuable experience.
Everyone is very friendly and welcoming and feel happy to have you as part of the team and want to help you as much as possible.
All the management team have been incredibly supportive and proactive in finding me things to do/help me achieve the tasks I wish to complete and show interest in.
A good balance. Rarely bored yet never too busy.
I was allowed to be incredibly independent which was great- it meant I had to be proactive which I enjoyed as it also gave me freedom with my days and manage my appointments/task accordingly.
As stated earlier it is a really valuable experience and has set me up for many tasks I encounter in the future. It has taught me to be proactive and has also encouraged me to improve focus and organisational skills.
The Company
Really positive- felt part of the team immediately and invited to staff events within first couple of weeks despite not knowing them previously. Had great fun with the team and within the branch in general.
At the beginning it felt slightly disorganised yet once settled in the branch it was very organised and constantly informed from leaders of the internship and good contact with other interns and regional branch managers throughout.
Felt very looked after- the communication was really good and regularly kept up to date through either emails, meetings or conference calls and informed of what stage we should be at etc.
Company Parties/Events
Would love to be given the opportunity to work with HSBC in the future, if I am lucky enough.
The Culture
Really good- everyone made an effort to arrange social events in order to get to know other interns, and members of staff made an effort to include me as part of teh team.
It's London so very expensive!
Always busy however quite expensive so we would socialise in a different part of London.
Yes, plenty of socialising in order to meet other interns etc.
