About You
I enjoyed the atmosphere and the fact that people were always willing to teach me and answer my questions.
Some of the tasks that I had to complete were a bit basic and were not really teaching me about the service line I was in, so in that respect I did not feel valued all the time.
People were always encouraging me to ask questions no matter how simple the answer. I was made to feel totally comfortable asking for help.
My experience helped me understand what it is like to work at a top class firm and I was able to ask colleagues their experiences and tips for success which will most definitely assist me when I am in the working environment.
The Company
I had my timetable from day one and had a meeting half way through the internship to reflect on my time so far and change anything for the remainder of my time.
The people I worked with were very enthusiastic and generally happy in their jobs which made it a very positive atmosphere to work in.
The individuals who I worked with were committed to training me and I had a buddy to ask any questions to which was organised by the firm. There were also a few social events and networking opportunities.
I was able to ask different people abut their roles and positions within the firm and I could also understand the working atmosphere and life by simply being in the office.
The firm was very positive about the importance of caring for its workers and it was made very clear to me by simply being around the office and at the social events.
This was an invaluable opportunity enabling me to experience what it is like to really work at such a huge firm and the amount of commitment one needs to succeed. I really understood the service line I was in and the work I would be completing for the next 5 years or so.
Everything Else
I was paid very well for a student in a summer job and all my expenses were paid for.
Yes I had the opportunity to attend meetings and converse with directors and people in high positions in the firm and lunches with first years who we could ask questions to.
Yes there were several social events put on specially for the summer students as a networking opportunity.
Aside from sports teams, not really.
A wonderful opportunity to really be incorporated into a first class firm and understand the day to day work you would be completing if you were to join as a graduate.
