The Role
I really enjoyed my placement as I was with two different clients over the three weeks.
I was asked to do different things by many people which made me feel valued.
Everyone made sure I was okay and helped where they could - regardless of their position.
I was as busy as I wanted to be. There was always someone with work that I could help with.
I was given the same level of responsibility as a graduate and often found myself talking with clients.
Audit goes hand-in-hand with my management degree and so it helped give context to a lot of my modules.
The Company
Many people had recently left university and so were a similar age to myself, making it easy to talk to anyone.
Before I started I was emailed by my buddy letting me know which client I'd be working with the first week and what I'd be doing. The people I worked with on the next client also emailed me beforehand to let me know what I'd be doing.
I was taught many basic auditing concepts and everyone was very informative of how everyday activities worked.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Everyone got the opportunity of a partner interview in the final week and I was very happy when mine was successful.
The Culture
Most people go out to town on Friday nights and myself and the other interns were always invited.
A night out in Cambridge was pretty standard prices. Not quite as cheap as student prices but reasonable.
There was a good scene whenever we went out on Fridays.
My buddy got me on the weekly five-a-side football email and so were some of the other interns. Likewise we were invited to office events like scavenger hunts or leaving parties.
