The Role
I did not what to leave!
I was really made to feel apart of the team and valued as an individual. I was always supported and advised whenever I needed it and was encouraged when I got a little discouraged when I made mistakes 1st time.
It was difficult for them at times due to personal problems and having to jump between two offices, but if they weren't there they always made sure I was looked after and was provided with enough work.
If I was ever left with nothing to do I would always ask if anyone needed my assistance in the office, whether it be in the department I was working with or another.
Due to my supervisor not being around as much as they would have liked to have been due to circumstances it in fact made me take more of an initiative and learn to tackle new tasks. It helped to build my confidence in my own ability by the projects they set me and trusted me to complete.
The Company
Everyone was so up beat and supportive of one another. They were very personal and treated each other as valuable members within the work place.
There was no definitive structure, but I guess it is difficult to have a precise plan when your dealing with a multitude of projects and clients.
The fact that they took so much interest in me and how valued I felt demonstrated they wanted to make my time with them constructive and worthwhile, especially when my current degree is not aligned to property.
I am unsure as I believe its stiff competition and more difficult for myself being a non-cognate student as there are fewer places within the graduate scheme aligned to those not studying a RICS accredited course. I am extremely determined to work for Savills and will invest a lot of time and effort to give myself every opportunity to be considered.
The Culture
N/A I was the only student, but when we had the staff summer party there was a great atmosphere and a lot of laughs. The office is certainly filled with individuals with a great sense of humor and I got on with everyone
N/A - Rent was a lot cheaper than where I live in Nottingham and I didn't get to experience the social scene so much as a lot of the staff I worked with lived far away and the girls I lived with were always busy with their boyfriends.
I never got the opportunity to experience it- N/a
There was only one cricket match but this was only for the men in the office not to say there isn't normally.
