About You
Very well structured placement - I spent half my time in the Employment department and the rest in Pensions, which allowed me to gain insight in two diverse practice areas. The experience significantly enhanced my understanding of the workings of a corporate law firm.
Was given real responsibility from the start. The group project was fantastic as gave me something legally relevant to work on and provided good practice for interviews.
Everyone extremely friendly - they made a real effort to make sure I was comfortable and had stimulating work to do.

The Company
Spent half my time in Employment department and the rest in Pensions. The other work experience students were generally placed in different departments, which allowed us to discuss and compare the work carried out in our respective departments.
Was given real responsibility from the start - shared an office and worked closely with an Associate, which allowed me to gain insight into her daily activities.
Gained a significant understanding of the workings of a corporate law firm. Was in close contact with both Trainees, Solicitors and Associates so gained insight into what the job entails at different levels.
Felt I gained a significant understanding of the company culture, which seemed to be simultaneously productive and collegiate.
The experienced furthered my ambition of becoming a solicitor.
Everything Else
Was reimbursed for travel and lunches.
Meet and greet lunch on day 1 allowed us to meet various solicitors, trainees and associates. There were various organised activities throughout the week which allowed networking with other employees of the firm (visit to Courts of Law with a Partner, discussion with two trainees).
