The Role
A fantastic opportunity for a student. Huge amount of responsibility and trust enabled my confidence to grow and developed me hugely.
Being the 'new person' is sometimes quite difficult however from day one of my placement with Aldi I felt like part of the team. Everybody held the utmost respect at all Times.
My supervisor was always there for support or any problems I had throughout my placement. They were always very approachable and friendly.
It's not like any other role you will experience. You constantly have something to do, and it will never be 'making the tea'
The amount of responsibility you have is basically up to you. If you show that you are capable they give you all the responsibility possible at a wet early stage.
This year has helped my character development immensely and improved my graduate skills. It has enabled me to approach final year with ease knowing that I can handle anything after a year with Aldi. Also the time spent with Aldi holds me in good stead for a graduate career either with Aldi or another company.
The Company
Not 'fun' as such, but interesting. There was never a second I was sat twiddling my thumbs wanting to go home. You are constantly on your feet with various projects and tasks.
I was given a well structured training plan which more or less remained the same for the duration of the placement. I always knew where I had to be and what I was doing.
The company put everything into helping me succeed throughout my placement.
Company Car
I am confident that when I finish my final year at university, Aldi will welcome me to discuss graduate options.
The Culture
Myself and the rest of the placement students got on really well together. Wether that be socially or for professional projects.
Local bars and pubs around.
Small nightlife scene in heswall nearby.
Not encouraged to socialise with colleagues outside of work.
