About You
It was a great opportunity to find out more about the work carried out by Baker & McKenzie and what life would be like as a trainee. I really enjoyed it.
A lot of time was dedicated to talking to trainees, associates, partners and graduate recruitment on an individual basis or in small groups which provided a good chance to have any burning questions answered and helped to make everyone feel important as part of the day.
A lot of information was provided about the recruitment process generally which was really helpful. There was also a lot of support on hand during each session, particularly the negotiation session in which trainees were allocated to each group.
I feel that the negotiation skills session in particular will be very useful for assessment days in future. Also, I feel I will refer back to the information provided about the recruitment and application process when I begin to make my applications for vacation schemes and training contracts.
The Company
Everything was very well organised.
Everyone was very friendly. The firm clearly has a very friendly and open culture.
I feel they invested in the group that attended more generally, but they provided ample information about the training and development they would invest in trainees in future.
I got a real feel for what it would be like to work for Baker & McKenzie. The office tour was great too as I got to see the environment I could potentially be working in.
The firm has a very friendly culture which was evident by speaking to trainees, associates, partners and graduate recruitment.
It provided an invaluable insight into the firm and confirmed my decision to pursue a career as a commercial lawyer.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed for the expenses of my train travel.
Throughout most of the organised sessions there was an opportunity to speak to either trainees, associates, partners or graduate recruitment.
There was a lot of networking throughout the day including a session with trainees, over lunch and a session with current vacation scheme students.
I was given a lot of information about the social side of working life as well as the Pro Bono opportunities Baker & McKenzie are involved in.
It was a great opportunity to find out more about Baker & McKenzie.
