About You
I really enjoyed it, I found out more about what exactly the firm does on a day to day basis and also had the chance to mix with lawyers and other vac schemers to see the social side to the firm.
I was given a good level of work and introduced to multiple people in my group, this helped me really find out about the firm and I felt the work I was doing was worthwhile.
All of my supervisors and trainees were good at letting me know what to do and how to improve.
Some of the legal research skills will help on my degree, and the formatting/organisational skills will be helpful as a commercial lawyer in the future.
The Company
Everything was highly organised meaning I could get the best from the scheme.
Really good, the socials were good fun and in the office, particularly in banking, there was a good collegiate atmosphere.
We were taught about the formatting and organisation of the docexplorer that was particularly helpful, and also were given good feedback on work we completed. The appraisals were also important, as they allowed us to find out what we had worked well on and where we should try to improve.
A really good insight due to the amount of time spent talking to trainees and associates at the firm, also the talks and presentations allowed us to see the different departments and what they do, this interconnectivity in departments was particularly helpful in seeing what a role at the firm would be like.
The insight really helped see the firm's atmosphere, particularly with regards to differing groups and also how different people in groups socialise. Also the way different groups socialise, for example certain groups have a big nigth out a week, whereas others are more interested in chatting over a lucnh.
Everything Else
Yes the reimbursement was £300 a week, and they also added on extra amount on top so that after tax we received £300 per week.
Yes lots, socials with partners trainees and associates.
Really good, two/three events a week, some more informal such as a cooking class and a trip to bounce, wheras others more formal with a dinner with partners at maze. We were also taken up the shard and went for a meal at the blue print cafe by tower bridge.
Yes multiple sports teams and groups containing people with similar interests, on the scheme we were also given the contact details of people to get in touch with if we were interested during the three weeks in getting involved with any of the groups.
Yes definitely, the experience really helped find out what i wanted to do in the future and gave me a great chance to see what the firm does on a day to day basis. Also the social events were all good fun.
