The Role
Has been a great year providing some invaluable experience.
At first it's hard, but eventually I got on with everyone like a house on fire, made some great friends along the way.
My manager was always there for support and event when he was extremely busy would set aside time for me.
Working in Finance there are times when work is really busy, but towards the end of the month there is less work so you can seek out more work if you need it. So is a good balance but it's the nature of the job.
I can not believe how much responsibility I was given and could actually seek out more if i wanted it. I have done things I never though I would such as delivering presentations to hundreds of people across Europe & managed factory financial performance with managers.
With 5 great training sessions on personal skill development, Relevant work to my degree, and the development of my working attitudes it will be a great help.
The Company
Most of the time it was good, friendly, relaxed atmosphere. But sometimes due to work the atmosphere can be more tense.
Set up well with a work plan in place.
Had 5 good training days and more was available.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
A lot of placements get Grad jobs, and there is the FDP programme for Finance students to go onto.
The Culture
We had regular nights out and did activities together.
Lived in Stamford, bit more expensive than I was used to but Social scene isn't too bad.
Not too bad but not that good! There's only 1 club and it seems to be trapped in the 80's but Peterborough is close by.
There is plenty of opportunities to get involved such as football, tennis, badminton and vasrious other non sporting activities.
