  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Incredible company to work for and we had a really good overview of all segments and functions.

  • I was invited to meetings and also team away days, which was great.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My Line Manager was always very busy so I had little interaction with him but this was actually quite advantageous as it challenged me to use my initiative I probably learnt a lot more this way.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had to use a lot of initiative because I wasn't given many allocated tasks but I kept myself busy and if ever there was a dull moment I would find something useful and meaningful to do.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I could take ownership of my task and came up with initiatives for the interns and took ownership of those too.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Working in a professional environment and developing the necessary skills is always going to be vital. As a specific example, I organised professional presentation training- again, a vital skill.

  • Very relaxed, friendly atmosphere!

  • As a pilot programme, there were areas for improvement but nevertheless a fantastic experience.

  • Mars are very big supporters of personal development, especially if you are proactive.

  • I would truly love to work for Mars.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Awkward location so meeting up was harder than anticipated.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It was very expensive to live and commute (without a car).

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I think it's quite good in Nottingham but didn't get very involved since most interns went home at weekends.

  • Team volunteering days in particular were great!
