The Role
It was a very good experience, and served especially well as an insight into the PwC lifestyle. I did enjoy the work assigned to me, as you get through a variety of work and clients alike during the internshipi period, which makes the work quite engaging.
One of the best things about PwC is how it takes care of its employees, and how each employee also looks out for one another. The buddy and people manager system is in place to help you at all times, whether it be simple questions like what to wear to certain meetings/events, to technical questions as well. Overall I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly all the people I worked with were. I would definitely rate this aspect of the internship as one of the most valuable experiences I had.
Further to the point above, in-charges give you a lot of advice, if you ask for it. I liked the fact that you are allowed to work on your task by yourself and are allowed to manage your time yourself, but help is always at hand should you need it.
When you are at a client site, you are usually quite heavily involved with the work and you can expect to always have work to do. Around the office things can be slightly more relaxed in terms of the time pressure and amount of work to do, but the key thing is to always request for work if you are not assigned to anything.
Since I was an intern, the amount of responsibility was not that high. But there were times where I was given the opportunity to talk and engage with the clients on important matters, which was a great experience overall.
This internship not only gave me a great insight into the type of career PwC offers, but also the lifestyle and even necessary life skills that you can and will develop. Travel is a very important aspect - if you don't like to travel, you should look into what line of service you get into and what you really want to get out of it. Overall, the training was intense and the learning curve was very sharply upwards-sloping, but it is definitely worth it in the end. I got a great feel for how work life with PwC would be like, and it was a great opportunity for me.
The Company
It is a fun and very enjoyable atmosphere at the office, and even at the client site with the audit team.
You will find that everything is very well organised and planned out for you in the beginning. You may have to request work if you are not assigned to anything at times.
The initial training days are a lot to take in, but not to worry, you do most of the learning on the job anyway!

I already got confirmation that I would be receiving a job offer with PwC, which is great. The statistic they throw out to you is that above 95% of interns get offered a job at the end of the internship, and I can confirm that this is very true!
The Culture
The social interaction is another aspect that makes PwC great. There are plenty of social events to get involved in if you so choose, but even just the general attitude to colleagues around work was great. In my office (which was the Cardiff office) there were only four interns, and we did a lot of things together - I became really close to them! Networking definitely plays a big role in this.
This will definitely depend on which office you are working in, but in Cardiff most things, especially living, is quite cheap, especially relative to other offices based in London. You can look into this before you start your internship, or select the office for which you want to work for.
Even though I personally didn't get much time to go out and enjoy the nightlife, there are plenty of things to do if you want to. There were many places to go had I looked into it, but usually my spare time was spent relaxing!
There weren't too many activities outside of work in the Cardiff office, and my opinion on this would be slightly flawed, since for 5 of the 6 weeks of the internship I worked at client sites which were not around where the Cardiff office was based.
