The Role
I really enjoyed my placement. It gave me a great insight into what a career in consulting would involve and I had the opportunity to talk to a lot of people to find out more and ask advice. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly.
Everyone was very appreciative of my help and made me feel like it was worthwhile.
I was assigned a buddy who was great. He helped me out with the basics when I first got there and then introduced me to people and helped me get on to projects.
Most days I was really busy but there was the odd day where I was quieter.
I was given a lot more responsibility towards the end of my placement.
I spent a lot of time with clients and was involved in interviewing employees, which helped develop my communication skills. I had to work both as part of a team and individually. I learnt how to use new computer programmes. I improved my confidence in public speaking and competence in giving presentations. It was also a great way to improve my organisation and time management skills as I was working on multiple projects.
The Company
It was a really nice atmosphere in the office - very laid back and friendly even though everyone was working hard.
There weren't any projects organised for me when I first started so my first few days weren't particularly organised. But after that everything was very well organised especially the events.
They invested a lot in the Induction, which was a great event and a great way to network. I also had great exposure to clients and had the opportunity to travel to London for a couple of days.

The Culture
We would often go out for drinks after work on a Friday night.
There are lots of nice restaurants and bars near the office and clubs nearby.
There was a Summer ball and a few sporting events.
