The Role
I enjoyed the placement overall, especially the responsibility given to me, the opportunity to work on a real client job and the friendliness of the teams that I was working in
Most of the time I felt valued by being given responsibility and tasks that they viewed as difficult
Everybody I worked with was genuinely helpful and friendly, I was never afraid to ask anyone a question and others always made sure I knew what I was doing
Some days were busier than others - whilst working on the client sites there were always jobs to be done, however when based in the office there was a lot of times where I found myself asking for jobs to do
I was 'thrown it at the deep end' as such and was given tasks assigned to me from the very beginning which made me feel a valued part of the team
The work I was doing was what a first year on the job would be doing, so if I were to join permanently the skills I learnt would be incredibly useful when starting the job and give a real headstart
The Company
I rarely visited the office as I was on client sites for the majority of the time, however it was a relatively small office so when I was there there were very few people in, however all of which were friendly and made a nice atmosphere
Mostly well organised however I had a small issue with a job being cancelled the Friday before I was supposed to start and so ended up being office based for that week
I feel the firm has put at lot of effort into this internship to ensure that we get the most out of it, for example socials and events
Offered a full time role at the end of the internship
The Culture
I was the only intern based in my office so there was no socials in this respect however when invited to London to do socials with the interns from other places in the country these were good and it was easy to talk to and get on with everyone else
I am originally from the area where I did my internship so lived at home which was free!
Again, I worked where I grew up so know the nightlife well already - its great!!
The office held regular socials and also the teams that I was working on regularly went out for lunches together
