The Role
Overall a good experience. It perfectly satisfies the aim of finding out what you'll be doing on a job at the firm.
Quite honestly, as an inten you won't be seen as some super important figure by your colleagues, because you wont have much value to offer them.
Support and guidance were top notch as long as you asked for it. Even high level managers were willing to take an hour out of their day to speak to you about their work, your opportunities, and share some advice.
There is always enough work to keep an intern busy. The catch is that it's not always interesting work. I was lucky in this regard because my team gave me quite a variety of things to do and clients to work on. In the end, the important thing is to get a flavour of the work you'll be doing as a fresh graduate in the company and this was done well.
I was often given the responsibility of running calculations or client contact. Naturally, any work I did with large financial implications had to be double checked by someone else.
An excellent insight into the life of a graduate at the company, including both the highs and the lows with nothing dressed up.
The Company
Good but very professional atmosphere.
Very organised national structure. Unfortunately, this meant it was inflexible when it came to personal requests.
Good technical training for the job
National Travel
Completely dependant on the deparment.
The Culture
Arranged socials every Friday night. Had lunch with interns/colleagues every day.
Couldn't complain.
Student university city. Great nightlife as expected.
Plenty of opportunities provided you looked for them.
