About You
In comparison to other placements that I have undertaken, the placement at Pinsent Masons definintely comes out top.
I was only able to complete smaller tasks however I was still made to feel a valued member of the team.
My supervisor was extremely busy during my time, however my buddy was super and other members from other teams very much helped me out.
The skills i developed will definitely be able to help me with my studies, especially the research I completed.
The Company
We were given a structure of each day on our first day of placement. This proved to be very helpful as we knew exactly what we would be doing each day.
Everybody was very friendly and approachable. During the social events it was also easy to talk to partners.
The company invested quite alot in developing the summer students. I felt everything was explained very clearly to me and if I had a problem there was always someone who could help me.
Whilst I was only given smaller tasks I was still made to feel like part of the team. It was also helpful to see how how my work contributed to the overall transaction.
As part of the placement process we had to complete a SWOT analysis. This obviously required researching the company and its strategy in depth. Also by talking to partners you began to understand the company culture.
Very helpful. It opened my eyes to career opportunities that I didn't even know existed as you cannot study them at University.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed adequately.
There were several social occasions with partners, trainees and other lawyers which provided an excellent opportunity to network.
They were great and we had alot of fun. Pinsent Masons made sure that there social events were well attended and covered the costs.
Other trainees enjoyed telling us about the opportunities outside of work. We also had presentations on CSR which explained ways in which we can help the community.
Definitely.
