The Role
Occasionally I found myself asking for more work, as I wasn't busy enough but I was always given more work at this point.
My work was going out to clients within 3 weeks of starting.
The skills and training developed, I perhaps already had (i.e. excel skills) and my placement revised/specialized them. The experience of working for this kind of company was more useful.
The Company
The atmosphere was great. Very relaxed most of the time, but when it needed to be hugely professional.
Very well organised with specific start and end events, with HR in constant contact with you to discuss any problems. With the exception of the first and last week I was treated as a full time employee of the company.
Perhaps n/a as my summer placement was only 8 weeks, but training was definately given where necessary. Long term training, understandably, was not particularly prevalent.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare/Dental
I was offered a full time job with the company and start in September.
The Culture
Lunch was spent with summer students some days. All 40 UK interns had a hotel stay in Leeds during the first week, which involved social events and training, as well as a day out together in London on the last day of the internship.
London is by far the most expensive city in the UK, although I already knew this as I go university here. There is a slight salary adjustment for this but it certainly doesn't cover the extra cost of living in London.
Its Central London, there is too much to do!
Always invited to nights out, and became a member of the office cricket team.
