The Role
I really enjoyed my internship, everyone in my department made an effort to make me feel included and made a real effort to make sure that I got the most out of my time at Willis. I learnt a lot about the industry.
Everyone was incredibly supportive and made an effort to get to know me and made sure that I was learning as much as I could. Some of them went out of their way to make sure that I got the most out of my experience.
Like I said earlier, the support has been fantastic. The buddy/manager system also works really well. There's always someone to turn to for an issue and someone there who genuinely wants to help you out.
The one thing that could have been improved slightly was the workload. It would have been nicer to have had a project running through the duration of the internship, because there were a few times where there wasn't too much to do.
I was treated like a full member of the team and was given tasks that helped with real projects, which really helped to get a sense of what it would have been like to work there and to have real responsibilities on the job.
While I was given tasks to do, other employees made it a point to come and speak to me about the industry and the way that things work. I learnt a lot, both in terms of industry specific and general knowledge that I can take forward.
The Company
The office had a great atmosphere, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. People went out of their way to talk to me and were very receptive and enthusiastic if I ever had any questions or queries.
The internship was very well structured, we were all given specific tasks and roles to fulfil. Everything week there were also training sessions during lunch to assist our learning and these were really helpful.
The company itself is great in terms of training. There are a few training courses every weeks and I had the opportunity to attend a few which were really beneficial. They also included people from all over the company so I had the chance to meet many new peopl.

National Travel
It would be great to have the chance to work at willis, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and got along incredibly well with everyone in my department. The type of work involved also really appeals to me.
The Culture
The other interns were also really friendly and easy to get along with. During the last week, a leaving drinks was organised for us to celebrate and this provided a great opportunity to meet people from across the company.
Central London was never going to be cheap both in terms of traveling and food. I lived at home during the course of my internship as rent would have been rather expensive. Rail/tube travel in off peak times is cheaper with a 16-25 rail card.
While central London is an expensive area in terms of living, there are endless opportunities to socialise in the area. The city itself is busy and has a vibrant nightlife that we all got the chance to experience.
As said earlier, the city is great in terms of having opportunities for getting involved in activities outside of work. There's always something going on and with the tube and buses everywhere is relatively easy to get to.
