The Role
The placement was very good and would recommend to people considering a career in accountancy, the job is not for me but I still thought it was a good experience
The spirit of team work and people you work with is one of the best parts of the job as there are many friednly and young peopole working at Deloitte
Support was good
It depends, some days it was very busy but others it was really dull as they lacked work for us to do- it depends entirely on what happens to be going on at the time i.e what audit deadlines there are etc when you are working in teh service line
The placement gave you the same level of responsibility as new graduates, so given the level of knowledge about the subject you are given responsibility howvere it is difficult to be given too much as you obviously lack training
Some of the work with Excel was useful and I learnt how to use various fuinctions I had not used before but in general it wasnt terribly useful unless you then go into accountancy
The Company
Very good and positive
Very well organised
You have a three day course of team exercises etc before you enter the office
Subsidised Canteen
If you want to work within accountacny it offers great prospects
The Culture
You work with a number of different fellow placement students and can arrange social events
Cheaper than London!
Goodish....
Had drinks some evenings after work and there were some sports teams that had fixtures which there was potential to get involved in
