The Role
I really enjoyed my placement, everyone was really helpful and it was a good experience.
Although I knew I was just a student, I was treated well and was welcomed.
If I ever had any questions there were numerous people to ask.
We were given a long term project which kept us fairly busy.
I had to submit some of my own work which would then be given to clients.
I am currently in my final year of an actuarial degree and the placement gives me a good understanding of how the material I am taught in university is applicable in real life.
The Company
It was a serious atmosphere, but there was also time for casual conversation.
It was very organised, everything was arranged in advance of my arrival.
They invested a lot in me, I now have a feeling of mutual respect with Mercer.
Company Parties/Events
I left with a good impression of the organisation.
The Culture
I participated in weekly football matches and regularly went out to restaurants with my colleagues.
It was rather expensive.
There are a few bars, but not much else.
It was possible to play for the football team which I did.
