The Role
Having been nervous before starting I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the placement; both the work and the people were great and I was genuinely sad to leave.
The work that I did I hope was useful and valuable to my colleagues
Everyone, from the trainee buddies and our trainers to the partners and graduate recruitment team
It varied depending upon the day and the department; I was happiest when busiest
Again; it depended upon the particular day and the department
It was a hugely valuable experience and one that I think gave an insight into the firm and the nature of its work that it is impossible to gain from an external perspective
The Company
The atmosphere was dynamic; people were clearly busy but always made time to chat and be friendly, which was very welcoming
Absolutely great; from the first day to the last we were exceptionally well looked after and organised, always knowing what we would be doing and involved both inside and outside of work
Everyone in the firm put a huge amount of time and effort into explaining/training/teaching us and I feel the experience both enhanced existing skills and taught me new ones
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I would be delighted to be offered the opportunity to continue working with the firm
The Culture
The other vacation scheme students were a like minded group and we all got on well, socialising both inside and outside of work
London as a whole was fairly expensive although the firm was great in arranging meals and drinks after work for us
We had enjoyable nights out with the other vacation scheme students
Particularly enjoyed getting involved with pro bono work
