The Role
I really enjoyed this placement. Day to day the was a lot to do and the offices were fantastic with lovely facilities.
I got on well with my colleagues and I made some really good friends who I am still in contact will. I felt like a peer and never felt looked down on.
I was given a fair amount of support with weekly meeting so that they could let me know my progress and my tasks for the following week.
I was usually busy with a lot to do. It wasn't often that I had nothing to do. I feel that it is much better to be busy than not.
I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility throughout my placement. I was really only working on my own project so didn't really affect anyone else.
The technical skills that I learnt are unlikely to be used again but the business relations skills will definitely be used again.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was good and there was always plenty of gossip in our cluster. Everyone was very friendly.
The placement was well organised with a lot other undergraduates. There was a clear plan laid down when I arrived.
I did a little bit of training there. If I had wanted to do more I am sure that I would have been able to. Couldn't really be bothered!
Subsidised Canteen
I think that I would have been able to come back if I had wanted to. However, I don't want to follow this route of employment.
The Culture
The was a good social scene with us all living together. We got on well and they really became friends for life.
Cost of living was rather high but the pay more than covered the costs. Going out was also pretty expensive.
The nightlife was good. I only really went out on weekends as it was impossible to work with a hangover!
