The Role
I really enjoyed my internship. Everyone was very welcoming and it was really good to see the work I was doing actually being used in the company.
Everyone in the office was really friendly and welcoming and made me feel like part of the team straight away.
We were each assigned a line manager and a desk buddy to help us with any problems we had and everyone in the office was always very willing to help you with work or answer any questions you had.
There were really busy times and times with not so much work but we also had intern projects to work on so we always had something to be doing.
I felt I was given a good amount of responsibility as the work I was doing was often similar to what the new graduates were doing.
We had a lot of training specific to the department we were in but also got training in different software programmes and some practice giving presenations which will be really helpful in the future.
The Company
Everyone in the office was really friendly and welcoming and happy to talk to you about anything! There were also lots of socials outside of work which we were always invited along to.
Everything to do with the internship was really well organised. Lots of training sessions had been planned for us for when we arrived and we got the opportunity to shadow a more senior member of staff which was really interesting. The recruitment team were also really good at helping you find somewhere to live if you didn't know the area very well. There were also intern projects organised for us which were a really good way to get to know some of the other interns and get experience working with people from different offices.
During the first two weeks of our internship we had lots of training sessions planned which were really helpful when we started to get given work. They also tried to really ensure we got the most out of our time by giving us presentations to work on, organising for us to shadow senior consultants and inviting us to other talks and meetings going on in the office.

I really enjoyed my internship with Towers Watson. It gave me a really good insight into the Acturial Profession and confirmed by desire to persue this career path.
The Culture
There were 6 interns in our department and more across the whole office. As most of us had moved to Reigate specifically for the internship everyone was really sociable and we did something together at least a couple of nights a week, such as playing sport or going for meals. There were also lots of work socials organised while we were there such as a boat party down the Thames, watching a T20 cricket match and a rounders tournament. The interns were tasked with organising office socials and so we organised a pub quiz and wine tasting event!
Reigate is quite expencive to live in but no more so than anywhere else in London.
Reigate itself has a lots of restaurants and pubs but not so much of a nightlife, however London is really easy to get to.
There were lots of socials organised outside of the office. There were also opportunities to play Badminton every fortnight and often other activities were organised such as bike rides and meals out.
