The Role
Hard work but thoroughly enjoyable
Really felt included by the similar level staff to me.
Given more guidance by similar level staff rather than managers, but a lot of help given nonetheless.
Some days were spent asking for work and other days were working on 5 jobs simultaneously.
I had a lot of work than I was soley responsible for, but it all got checked throughly through KPMG's system before sending out to clients/archiving.
The biggest learning curve was how to get out of bed before 7am every morning! I've gained so many new working methods and mindsets.
The Company
There were social aspects too, e.g pub trips, nights out, lunch trips out etc. Also, everyone was happy to chat whilst working and there was a nice buzzing office atmosphere.
Administration was excellent but when got to work placement, set up and then any jobs given were very ad hoc. Nothing prepared beforehand that I could get started on/learn immediately.
Gave me lots of training and many people took time out of their work to teach me, but no money/offical training spent.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Applying for Graduate job.
The Culture
No other interns were in my dept, so I was the only one, but the younger staff members were very sociable.
Not expensive, but not cheap.
About average.
Yes, I was invited to play Badminton, go to a Poker night and obviously go out for a few drinks.
