The Role
We great fun, got to work with lots of people across the world from end users to B2B. Met lots of the companies exec team and worked to resolve their issues.
My colleagues were great to work with, I also worked with 3 other placement students in the UK and 2 in the US. It was a great team to work with and my colleagues were always willing to give assistance where possible and constructive ctitisim, which is important for personal development.
My manager was very helpful giving support and guidance, I was able to ask him any question and he would point me in the right direction so I could resolve any issue I help. We were also able to speak openly about an issue I had with the job or tasks I was performing.
There was always the odd moment of madness when there was loads to do, but better to be kept busy than sitting around doing nothing. There was always something to do so never the oppertunity for bordom!
Lots of responsibility was given to myself in order to do the role I was assigned. Probably shouldn't go into too much detail here, dont want to give away the trade secrets!
I learn't lots of skills, soft and technical which will be benefical to myself later on. I was given training in order to extend my knowledge in certain areas where I may have had a weakness.
The Company
There was a great atmosphere, a good balance between work and having a laugh. Made it enjoyable to work there!
It was very well organised, there was a special day for all the IP students before hand so we could all get to know eachother and the company we were going to work for. All my desk and computer accounts were created ready for my first day!
I got lots of training in the first week via online learning course and some which I had to attend. I also got continuous training from my manager on a range of areas, technical and business related thoughout the placement.

Very tough to get a grad job as the competition is very high. With only a few grad jobs but loads of placement students makes it increasingly hard to get a job at the end unless you really work for it!
The Culture
We have done a few outings with placement students from all buiness units, ie. IT, R&D and Consumer Health Care. Also did some specific ones with just the IT placement students. All of which were brilliant nights!
You are in greater london, so quite expensive! But not enough to not have a good time out and about!
Some great clubs, all the infamous London ones!
A few like joining the football team.
