The Role
Good experience overall
I got on with all my team which was a big help
Almost always had time to listen to any problems and explain solutions.
First week or so was fairly slow work wise but it picked up massively around reporting time. Didn't have to stay later than 6.30 ever. If they could have evened the work out over the whole internship it would be about 9 stars.
Everything is double checked before it goes to clients but I was writing a lot of first drafts etc. Spoke to a few fund managers on the phone and generally felt like I was given as much responsibility as I proved myself to deserve.
Interesting experience. I did a lot of work with Excel (at my own request) in order to brush up on my skills there.
The Company
My team had a good level of banter which broke up the day. That wasn't reported by every intern I spoke to though.
There were a few bumps along the road - especially at the beginning - but it improved as we went along.
The training was compulsory and fairly interesting. Also interesting to note that they sponsor their grads through any exams they wish to take, even a masters programme at Imperial.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Job offer rates are high once you get onto the internship
The Culture
