The Role
Very friendly and helpful staff who were happy to give an insight into working for Aon. Invited on all of the office socials and was given responsibility on a range of projects.
Involved heavily both with the work and social side. Given worthwhile jobs which staff are grateful for you completing.
Many catch-ups and always felt happy to talk to my manager or leader of a project. Always happy to answer questions or help if stuck on the system or calculations.
At the beginning I found that I was looking for work to do, however this changed as the internship developed and I was given enough work to keep be busy but deadlines were varied so there was never too much stress.
Given meaningful jobs to do for a range of clients. The checking system meant that all the work I did was checked, but I also got the opportunity to check the work of people more senior than me too,
Hugely important skills developed. It will certainly be useful for future careers and the online based training and workshops will be invaluable for my final year of university.
The Company
Friendly, hard-working but always able to take a break if needed. Everybody got involved in tea rounds.
The training week was an excellent start to the internships and regular catch-ups with different staff ensured I was always given enough to do.
I was able to attend meetings with fund managers talking about market outlook and different funds. There were also regular online training sessions from external locations which were extremely useful.
Company Parties/Events
I would be delighted to be able to work at the company and a review will take place at the end of the internship.
The Culture
All staff would go for drinks after work and many different social events were planned by the social committee.
Bristol wasn't particularly expensive and there were lots of well priced places to go for food and drinks.
Staff went to a range of bars after work and for events.
There were often activities, social events or just evening/afternoon drinks which we were invited to at work.
