The Role
Throughly enjoyed the internship.
Given a lot of support and assistance, but also felt like I was adding value to the work they were doing.
A lot of help, but I was also expected to do my own learning and research into the banks processes and general market conditions.
Expected to stay late/start earlier than usual if there was a deal that needed working on, but also plenty of opportunity to leave earlier in quieter periods
Difficult to 'run the show' in a small specialised finance team, but I was given plenty of opportunity to manage my own time and work load
Learnt a lot about the corporate finance market
The Company
Really enjoyable team to work within, incredibly knowledgable about their specific fields. However, it is also a serious and intense working environment when it needs to be.
Slightly disappointing compared to last year, however a pretty good job was done due to certain members of the HR team leaving.
Great opportunities to see other parts of the business, everyone at HSBC has time to answer questions or queries you may have.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Great organisation to work for.
The Culture
Local intern/graduate community were very social
reasonable.
Nightlife is pretty standard for a big city.
Numerous charity events and social events accross the country that you could get inovled in
