    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed experiencing the working environment, and loved the social side of being an intern both with the other interns are with graduates who have already started work.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • It took a while to really get started but once I was given work of my own I felt like I was actually contributing to the team and I really felt involved.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Given we work at the client site the majority of the time I haven't seen my mentor often, but the people I've worked with have been really helpful on a day to day basis. I have been able to email my supervisor with any questions and he's helped me get the most out of my time here.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Initially I didn't have too much work and it was a lot of watching other people as I didn't have any prior knowledge, but over the course of the placement I have been given more work and I've felt a good level of busy where I've been constantly occupied without being overly stressed.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My responsibility has increased over the placement and although I don't have any serious responsibilities I have felt responsible for my pieces of work and I've been trusted with bigger tasks having learnt from smaller ones.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I had to learn to talk to a variety of different people which I wasn't used to. I was initially uncomfortable talking to senior managers, but the placement has helped me grow in confidence and not be scared to ask questions which will be extremely helpful when I start work as a graduate.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone has been really friendly, and there's been a good balance of working hard but also having fun and socialising.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The introduction was very good and really helped me feel comfortable starting the placement, but after the initial introduction we haven't had much guidance and have had to work things out for ourselves - which has both advantages and disadvantages.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had two days of training which helped us with the personal skills needed for the job, for example team work, but there was no technical training so I felt a little clueless on my first few days, but the people I've worked with have been supportive and have helped me learn some of the technical aspects of the job.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • We have to pass the internship and take a final interview, but I would love to get the job after my experiences

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Everyone was really friendly and we often met up for drinks after work

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Being in London is expensive but there are ways to socialise within a budget.

    2/5

  • London gives so many options of places to go out and its so easy to get around

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
