The Role
Lots of factors affected this. Since the work is client based, you are always at different clients and working with different people, so it depends who you're working with as to how much work/responsibility you're given. Some days I wasn't given very much to do, but other days I had lots of different tasks to be getting on with. Also, it's difficult to get to clients without a car, so means long days since you have to make your way to the office to be picked up, and have to leave the client whenever the person you're working with leaves.
Felt like the help I was giving them was appreciated.
The people I was working with were very helpful and answered all my questions! Again, it depends who you're working with.
Found that quite often I ran out of work and had to wait for things to do, I think this is partly the nature of the job though, since you're waiting on information and documents from the client.
Was given quite large sections of the audit to complete and was expected to speak to lots of different people from the companies I audited. This was a bit daunting when you have very limited audit knowledge, but you get used to it as the internship progresses!
Feel like I've definitely got a step ahead if I did decide to join KPMG after university.
The Company
Was rarely in the office, but when I was there I found that everyone seemed to know each other, and was really friendly!
First day in the office was spent setting up the laptops and doing general admin work. Then was booked out to clients for the entire duration of my internship.
Before beginning the internship, had a two day course/introduction in Birmingham, to get an introduction to KPMG and the kind of work they do.

International Travel
Seem like a company that treat you very well. Providing you have performed satisfactorily during your placement, you get an interview with a partner during your final week which determines whether or not they offer you a job.
The Culture
There wasn't anything arranged for the interns alone, but we arranged a couple of events between ourselves. We were always welcome to attend events with the other colleagues.
Leeds is an average price in general (probably very cheap compared to people who live in London). Some places are more expensive than others but if you look in the right place there are plenty of cheap deals and offers on.
Leeds has a really good nightlife, with lots of pubs/bars/nightclubs, to suit any preference.
There were a few opportunities to play a couple of sports, but I didn't really get involved in any of these.
