The Role
I really enjoyed my time with Aldi. Although it was a lot of hard work, I was given a great deal of responsibility and got the opportunity to experience the business from all angles.
The majority of my colleagues were extremely welcoming and friendly.
I was given regular updates with Managers and Directors which was very helpful. They allowed me to review my performance and grow within the role.
I was extremely busy on a daily basis. However, I was aware that this would be the case upon starting the placement.
I was given unbelievable amounts of responsibility. I honestly believe that I would not have been given this amount in any other placement. After the first few months, I was running a very busy store. I was also involved in a project during my time at Head Office that affected the entire region and its operations.
Due to the varied nature of this placement, I believe that I am walking away from it as a much more employable and confident individual.
The Company
The office was open plan which meant that all departments could communicate with one another.
Upon starting the placement, I was given a structured training plan.
I was given a lot of training and development from the management teams within the company.
I am now working part-time in a store.
The Culture
I was kept very busy during the placement. As a result, there was little or no opportunity to socialise. I also had to balance my university coursework with my shifts.
I was often working so there was not a lot of time to socialise. On placement, you are expected to be fully committed to Aldi.
I was working in a very quiet area.
No as a result of the area I was placed in.
