The Role
I really enjoyed it, the people in the office were very friendly and helpful.
Everyone was proffesional but they also made you feel welcomed and valued. They were always grateful when you completed tasks for them and made you feel like part of the team from day one.
The support was fantastic, I was given exposure to lots of different areas, the regular feedback meetings and buddy system were both informative and made me feel as though I was on the right track. My supervisors were always wanting me to get involved and I was given alot of responsibility by them. They explained my tasks to me and were there incase I had any questions about anything.
When I first joined it was a very busy period. The team did a great job of giving me just the right amount of work, so I felt I was involved and busy but not overwhelmed. I was given a variety of tasks so that it wasn't repetative work.
You are given a good amount of responsibility as a summer intern and they are always willing to give you more work. It really is true that the more you put in the more you get out. I found I was challenged but everything was achievable and I enjoyed working in the Finance department.
The excel skills that I learnt will be helpful for later in life. Also the basic skills of how to work in an office will be carried with me.
The Company
The office atmosphere was great, it made all the difference on an early Monday morning!
A lot of work has been put into making everything run smoothly and it shows. The program is very well structured and you always feel supported.
As an intern there are limits to the amount a company can invest, as you are only there for a limited time. I did feel like they wanted me to take skills from the internship and to develop as a person. The company offered alot of support if there was anything that I wanted to do, in terms of visiting other departments etc.

I am applying for a graduate job, however I haven't had my interview yet.
The Culture
The summer interns were very proactive about organising social events together, along with this the company held events for both the company as a whole and days for the interns out of the office at Horsley. These were a great way to bond and network at the same time.
I thought it was reasonable, but it depends on what you're used to really.
The nights out were fun, but it was the people that made them. I think Guildford as an area would be busier when the students are at Uni, however having said that I really enjoyed the nights out. Guildford also has a few pubs that are great places to socialise.
There were a vast selection of clubs and activities you could get involved with, either at lunch or after work. The company also has links with the local leisure centre.
