About You
It was very enjoyable.
Everyone made an effort to acknowledge me and people knew my name. The staff were extremely friendly and I was given a good amount of responsibility.
Whenever I had a problem people were happy to help.
Having done a non law degree some of the research tasks I was given were insightful and I learnt how to use research websites and software.
The Company
Very well structured. We had a lot of time in our seats to become integrated into the departments but also had training and social events to attend.
Very positive, all of the vacation scheme students got on well and people were enjoying their time.
We were given some basic research and IT training which was sufficient to do the tasks we were given. I was also invited to attend internal firm training.
Sitting in an office with members of the workforce allowed you to see the nature of the work they do. Work was given by trainees, associates and partners and so it was possible to see how the work changes from level to level and people were completely honest about their hours and lifestyle.
Being in the firm for 3 weeks was enough to get a feeling of what the place is like and there was a strong sense of unity between staff.
The insight was extremely valuable
Everything Else
I was paid enough to cover my expenses plus extra.
There were networking lunches with partners.
There were meals out and drinks nights organised aswell as a networking lunch with partners and also bowling. Some people were invited to social events by their departments and we also organised drinks ourselves between the vacation scheme students.
I was invited to participate in a Touch Rugby tournament for Mayer Brown and also to play cricket for them.
It was both enjoyable and insightful so yes.
