About You
The scheme lasted for three weeks and included working in two different departments and visiting the Paris office. The Paris trip was really enjoyable.
I was pleased when my supervisor gave me interesting tasks and valued my findings in the research. However, I did not always get feedback for the tasks I did.
Having a trainee buddy was helpful because they were the first port of call for questions and insights into the firm
Legal research tasks were very rewarding as I learnt alot about the areas of law. It was also useful writing legal memorandums and learning how tro structure the information for a client.
The Company
The three weeks had a good balance of social events and work. There could have been a few more presentations and question and answer sessions in order to meet lawyers across more different departments at the firm.
Lawyers were friendly and so were graduate recruitment and other members of the vacation scheme.
Sometimes I did not get feedback for tasks or work I did at the firm. It would have been excellent to have more presentations on career development at the firm.
Speaking to trainees really helped me understand the type of work they do and the hours they work.
I spoke to alot of people and was able to see how diverse and friendly the firm was.
It confirmed my desire to work in an international firm.
Everything Else
It would have been better to have had the opportunity to network with more lawyers from different departments during a social or drinks event.
Paris was really fun and so was bowling.
It would have been good to have a question and answer session about this and other issues.
