The Role
Work was vaired, I got to travel around the country working on different clients. A couple of times the clock did drag on a bit, but that was mainly when I had nothing to do
People tried to give me as much as possible and always thanked me for my work
They were willing to explain work to me, and answer my questions when I asked
Mostly working 9-6 occasionallyy 9-7 and for one week I didn't really have much to do.
I was put on many clients and was reponsible for my own tasks- which obviously were reviewed but same as other employees.
My degree isn't Finance related but I learn general excel, timekeeping organisation etc.
The Company
I wasn't in the office much. But my department did have an away day and summer party whilst I was there (but I was told this was rare)
The start of the internship involved a 2 day training course. But when we returned to the regional offices, I heard very little from the grad recruitment staff.
There is lots of training and people out there to help you on your way, you just need to be prepared to ask.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
They offer a final internship if you pass the internship- so will need to wait and see!
The Culture
I lived at home and had to travel large distances so didn't take part in any activities out of work (note these were all organised by interns themselves not KPMG)
As said I lived at home- this is becuase London is SO expensive to live in
Again- living 2 hours away from the office is a chore- but london is great for everything if you are living near work
There are some clubs eg running. sailing but unfortunately no climbing or photography, which are the activites I do outside of uni. If I were to join however I could set a climbing club up!
