The Role
I definitely enjoyed the internship, it allowed me to learn a lot about the corporate atmosphere of a culturally complex conglomerate.
Literally family, but I was lucky to have been put in a team with similar temperament and humour to myself.
I was given support, and although guidance was available I think I could have been given more formal learning opportunities to allow me to perform far better at my work. Samsung needs to work on developing its interns, aiming to help them learn as much as act as normal employees in a full time job. But they are working on it...
The European organisation had a lot of up and down times, work was not always stable, and rest periods were well received.
A lot of responsibility. At Samsung, you act as a full-fledged employee of the company.
Without a doubt the best learning experience, more management and leadership skills development would have been great, but it has allowed me to align my priorities.
The Company
Depended on the day... Not oppressive, but definitely not liberal.
We were employees rather than interns, a great learning, but there was no defined learning structure. My main criticism of a placement as I believed they should work to develop the student more.
Not much. Another prime criticism. The team will do their best to benefit you but, all in all, the internship isn't focused on developing the students....

Great, if you work well they will want you back.
The Culture
With some yes, but it wasn't cohesive. This depends on the year though.
The surrey area is very expensive but, the most important factor is that the office is based in more or less the middle of nowhere.
Lots of geese. Pretty much it.
There did not seem to be many initiatives to notify colleagues about extra-company activities between colleagues.
