  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I had the best time ever. I was given loads of responsibility, I had a great team to work with, great intern cohort to have fun with, a lot of guidance and support from my Line Manager, team, buddy and HR.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • We were always notified in advance when it comes to the events the team organised for us. We were also contacted by our Line Managers prior to the internship started.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had a week of training in terms of personal branding, networking skills, MBTI testing etc. We were also given access to the intranet where you could find training materials for almost anything.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Grad offers are up for grabs if completing an internship. The grad scheme takes 2 years and you canf do 4 rotations in any Barclays business function. A great excuse to change 4 jobs in 2 years!

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The existing grads would organise events for us where we would meet twice a week approximately. We also became good friends.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • We didn't usually go out in Canary Wharf at night, but that wasn't a problem.

  • Barclays is very keen on giving back to society.
