The Role
Had a great experience - people were friendly and supportive, and there was always something new to learn or someone new to meet.
Very valued - great community feel and lots of collaboration across project groups and within the internship cohort.
Walk-through explanation of the work involved, though some of the Excel formulas got a bit tricky!
Quite busy - there were definitely some late nights, but I like being busy so it worked out quite well.
Lots of real responsibility from the business line managers I worked with - which is always a good thing as one can see the direct result of their contribution to help one large business during our brief time there.
Good soft skills training, though some more formal hard & transferrable skills (eg. Excel) training would have been preferred.
The Company
I was placed in a GREAT part of the business to work in - there was funky furniture, a great casual cafe collaboration space, free tea & coffee constantly, free fruit on Mondays, and an open bar on the last Thursday of every week. Loved the work environment and definitely didn't mind spending more time there than usual.
Fairly well organised, though it would have been nice to have some things (eg. where we were going to be placed) communicated earlier. Also, HR managers during the internship itself were at times hard to communicate with as they were so busy.
Got a lot of training/on-the-job learning about how the company worked, but not so sure if I learned too many new things (esp. as I had done other internships before where I received similar training).

Company Parties/Events
It's definitely a great place to work - would love to get a return offer and have some more time to explore opportunities within the firm!
The Culture
Peers went above and beyond in the sense of community and together-ness that was created - great crowd and proud to be associated with them.
It's London and Canary Wharf... neither of those terms are associated with the concept of affordable. But it's London and everyone wants to be there, so no complaints.
Decent bar scene if you're into that? And of course there are endless clubs in central London to go...
Quite a bit if you're interested - it is something really that is your own initiative if you want to get involved in it, and it's very possible to create your own opportunities for this.
