The Role
Great life experience. Whether I get a job or not, I learnt a massive ammount and the internship really changed my life.
Despite the teams being very busy, they were always able to spend time patiently explaining things to me.
I was a lot busier than I had ever been before, but I expected that and wouldn't want it any other way.
I was given a lot of autonomy to do what I wanted and learn what I needed to know. However, I the projects I did were more based on trade ideas and I couldn't really do much else.
I learnt more in these nine weeks than I did in a year of university. More than the technical and theory, the practical concepts I learned were extremely useful.
The Company
Very energetic. There was a lot going on but people were also quite relaxed and encouraged a more fun atmosphere.
Very well organised. Everything ran like clockwork, although I had a few issues with I.T set up at the start.
A little more training would have been nice but you get the impression that the company tried.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Very encouraging. The firm seems like they are keen to expand. There is a lot of exciting opportunities.
The Culture
Not really. Everyone was busy and organising social activity between us was difficult.
Very expensive. Food and accommodation was pricey but a subsidised cantine helped.
London has enough nightlife. Waking up at 5 meant I was a bit too tired at night to enjoy it much.
Not that many. I expected a lot more non-work activities. Having said that, I was kept very busy at work so there wasn't much i would have done anyway.
