About You
The experience was both challenging and thoroughly enjoyable.
I was made to feel at home from the outset and the firm made every effort to make the experience as beneficial as possible for me.
Through numerous workshops and other activities, I felt I learnt a lot about the firm. In terms of my work, I was told repeatedly that if I had any problems or questions, my supervisors and graduate recruitment would be more than happy to explain things to me and provide me with the help required.
I learnt much about how to manage my work when I have multiple tasks outstanding.
The Company
The firm runs two vacation schemes a year so they are very experienced in organising them. Numerous activities and events were organised by the firm throughout the three weeks, all of which were thoroughly enjoyable.
All of the vacation scheme students got on very well and we also all got on well with our trainees. The atmosphere was a very pleasant one and made for a great working environment.
Several activities, workshops and presentations were arranged for vacation scheme students during the three weeks which helped to develop my understanding of the role of a solicitor and the skills required to be successful in a career as a solicitor.
See above.
Working in different departments in the firm gave me a real insight into the culture of the firm, which is something that cannot be gained from simply reading a firm's promotional material.
The insight has affirmed my desire to enter the legal profession.
Everything Else
The pay I received more than covered my expenses for the three weeks.
Lunches with partners were arranged on a regular basis and there were numerous networking events with employees from across the firm.
The events were all very relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable.
Trainees discussed with us at length the sorts of activities people get involved with outside of work. Vacation scheme students were also offered an induction at the gym in the firm's office.
I cannot recommend the firm highly enough and I gained much from my vacation scheme.
