The Role
The whole place was a learning experience and enjoyable work with great people.
You are treated as a full member of the team after a little amount of training, I found by the end of my placement that people were coming and asking me for answers.
Monthly meetings with a mentor, provided by the company, along with reviews periodically from the manager and quarterly meetings with HR
Generally very busy on a day to day basis, a few days can be quiet but you can always help others out or work on new ideas and projects.
I was given a lot of responsibility, running my own projects, dealing with customers and finance and treated as a full member of the team.
They help teach me about parts of the industry which are not covered in the degree program at university, so I will probably benefit a lot from the experience there.
The Company
Generally a nice fun place to work, but as you would expect there are always a few off days for everyone.
It was quite well organised, there was however a lot of responsibility put onto me to organise certain training aspects.
They shared the knowledge that the company already has in its workers and the training of using the equipment. Alongside track driving training and advanced hazard avoidance programs.
I would like to work here after completion of my degree, I have been told I may be invited back to the assessment centre.
The Culture
All fellow students were sociable and outgoing, nights out and days doing things, was really good fun.
The beer was cheaper, the houses were cheaper and the bills were cheaper than being at uni or at home!!
Good pubs and clubs in the local towns and train access to anywhere else you might want to go.
Quite a few external activities, including sports and running teams, photography and golf teams and running and cycling events at work too.
