The Role
Gave me a excellent insight into the industry.
Everyone I worked with treated me like an equal and they gave up as much free time as they could to help me with any questions or problems I had.
My manager and supervisor directed me in the right direction whenever I needed help if they were unable to help me themselves.
There was a number of occasions when I went a large period of time without work to do at the beginning of my internship. Balanced out near the end.
I was given adequate responsibility. Would have liked to be given more however.
Developed a number of skills from the internship, while I also learned a large amount about the industry which will help me in deciding what area I will enter when I finish university.
The Company
Everyone was friendly with eachother. Everyone knew when they could have fun and when they had to work hard.
The internship was not that well organised. It was more ad hoc where I would come in everyday and see what needs to be done, rather than having a planned project for the duration of the internship.
I was trained for one particular job, however I received an excellent overview of the other areas within the department.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
They take in roughly 40 in my department every year.
The Culture
Volunteering days out and nights out were organised to help students socialise and get to know each other. Lunches were organised by my team for special occasions eg birthdays, people leaving, people joining the team.
Expensive part of the city. Lunches outside the building were somewhat more expensive than normal.
Large number of pubs/bars/nightclubs in approx 15 min walk.
There was a number of opportunities such as BBQs at the weekend, sports teams to play with.
