About You
It was very enjoyable. I was thrown into the deep end, which was more beneficial than perhaps making tea and coffee for 2 weeks. It was definitely a great insight.
Everyone I spoke to was really friendly and were very happy to help with any questions you had. There was a great atmosphere in the office which made it much more enjoyable to work there.
Guidance was good. We were assigned counselling managers and 'buddies' to help us with anything we needed although, I feel, as the first year to do this placement, setting our objectives could've been more important.
These 2 weeks have confirmed my career choice and have motivated me to try very hard this year to secure a place on their School Leavers Programme.
The Company
Everything was organised well.
The atmosphere both in the office and when out visiting clients is very fun and makes the job much more enjoyable.
I was helped throughout my placement by everyone around me and my knowledge increased by a huge amount, even in the short amount of time.
I was out at clients and in the office and had a very true, very real experience of what it would be like to have a career at BDO. This was most helpful when considering my future with a firm like BDO.
The firm hold very strong values, especially 'exceptional client service' which is absolutely imperative when they are doing any pieces of work. They stick to what they promise clients and I think that is very admirable for a firm.
These 2 weeks have confirmed my career decision in Accountancy and even more so, I intend to join BDO as I enjoyed these 2 weeks a lot.
Everything Else
BDO reimbursed all my travel expenses and I was paid adequately for the 2 weeks.
I met a lot of other employees through from trainees to partners - the open plan offices allow all employees to integrate and build professional relationships with many more people.
I spent 2 days with the rest of my intake which was great. Social opportunities that were spoken about in the office seemed really good and fun.
There are lots of opportunities for charity work, which I'm very interested in and BDO are happy to assist you with your fund-raising.
Definitely! This insight has been more than beneficial and I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
